๐ŸŽต The Actual Good Stuff

The Tunes Menu Thingiesโ„ข settings is used to change the appearance & function of the Tune Shuffler & has the following settings that'll probably confuse you:

How It Looks

These settings determine if you'll actually be able to read anything.

  • Menu Width lets you make the menus wider because apparently one size never fits all, amirite? Tap on this to select sizes between 240 & 600 pts. Default is 320pt (aka "medium-ish").
  • Ginormous Section Indexes blows up the tiny letters on the right side of long lists so your eyes don't bleed. Fair warning: you might see fewer indexes, but at least you won't need a magnifying glass.

What Actually Happens

This section explains the chaos that unfolds when you pick a song like you know what you're doin'.

  • Automatically Load Set decides if your chosen set yeets itself into the viewer faster than you can blink. Default is yes, but if you turn this off, you gotta tap like a maniac to actually see the set load.
  • View Selected Songs As controls how songs appear in the viewer when you're not lookin'. By default, the entire Collection loads up & you can flip through like a freakin' jukebox. Or pick Single Song & only that one song shows up when you're not in a set. Riveting.

Books

Settings that apply to books because apparently they're special.

  • Separate Styles lets books keep their own vibe. When you flip this on, songs in a book remember their own preferences & settings. So you can change a song's key for your worship set without totally wreckin' the original. Pretty clutch.

International Stuff

The following options let OnSong sort content for literally everyone else on the planet.

  • Collate Accented Characters rewires the sorting algorithm so fancy letters like ร‰ & ร‘ hang out with their boring cousins. Turned on by default for non-English languages, but you can turn it off if your library is so massive it's chokin' your device.
  • International Characters Last yeets any songs startin' with weird characters (like รƒล“ or รƒโ€ฆ) to the back of the line. If you turn this off, they sort normally. Default is off because we're not monsters.

List Stuff

The following options let you customize how your songs actually display.

  • Articles to Remove lets you tell OnSong which boring words to ignore when sorting. Type 'em separated by spaces (like "A An The") & boomโ€”"The Beatles" sorts with the B's.
  • Automatically Hide Songs Menu makes the menu vanish the second you pick something. Sneaky.
  • Prevent Deletions stops you from accidentally torpedo-ing your whole setlist. Disables the swipe-to-delete move & makes you tap Edit like a responsible adult.
  • Remove Articles when Sorting sorts songs that start with "The" or whatever using the next word instead. So "The Reckoning" hangs with "Return to Narnia". Genius.
  • Remove Description Text ditches the artist name & key that shows under each song title. Makes things cleaner (or boring, depending on your vibe).
  • Show Media Assignments puts a little icon next to songs that have backing tracks actually linked. So you know they're not just vibes.

Multiselect

Settings for when you wanna pick a bunch of songs at once & do stuff with 'em.

  • Preview While Selecting lets you peek at songs while you're checkin' them off. Multitasking for musicians, basically.

Settings that mess with how the tabs behave. Buckle up.

  • Automatically Select auto-picks the highlighted row after time expires because apparently you need a robot to make decisions. Options: Off, 1/2 second, or 1โ€“5 seconds. Default is 2 seconds. If it's Off, you gotta tap the Select button like a peasant.
  • Double Tap To Root brings back an iOS thing that confused literally everyone. When enabled, tappin' an active tab shows the first page. OnSong changed this to spare your sanity, but flip this on if you miss the old weirdness.

Sets

The sets section changes how the Sets tab of the Tune Shuffler works. Options include:

  • Auto-Archive Sets moves old sets out of sight automatically so things don't get all cluttered & slow. First time it finds archivable sets, it asks what you want. You can pick anything from 1 day to 3 months.
  • Display Timing shows your set's duration on the right side depending on what you pick. Off = no timing (default), Songs = each song's length, & Set = the cumulative time of the whole thing added together like math.
  • Display Song Order puts numbers next to songs in a set so you know what comes next. Default is off.
  • Separate Styles lets sets keep their own preferences & settings. So you can transpose a song in a set without touchin' your master copy. Chef's kiss.
  • Set Picking Mode chooses how you add songs to sets. New method shows what you've already picked but lets you add the same song twice & slip it in anywhere. Old method puts checkmarks on picked songs & adds new ones to the end.
  • Show Numbers displays the song number or sort order next to each title. Or not, if you don't want it.
