Ohhh, The Tech Specs…

The system information screen serves up your OnSong library deets, stats & bleepin' granular control over secondary screens. ZOMG, thrilling stuff.

Application

The application section basically flexes about OnSong including:

  • App Name is, like, the name of the app you're runnin' right now. Shocking.
  • App Version is the actual version number that the App Store thinks is legit.
  • Operating System shows what your device is runnin' & which version it's mad about.
  • Total Storage is how much hard drive real estate OnSong is straight-up hoarding.
  • User Interface defaults to whatever version the app rolled out with. You can tap to bounce between OnSong® 2020, 2024, 2026 or whenever they decide to update this thing again.
  • Update Available button shows up if OnSong got a glow-up. Tapping it yeets you to the App Store so you can get with the program.

Backup

If you've restored a backup file into your library (congrats on not losing everything!), this will flex the file name & when you rescued it.

Libraries

This section spills tea about each library OnSong is juggling. Your current library gets a checkmark cuz it's special. Each row includes:

  • Name is literally just what you called the library.
  • Size is how many megabytes this bad boy is chomping.

Collections

This section serves up the numbers on collections in your currently-selected library, including:

  • Artists is how many awesome peeps you got catalogued.
  • Books is how many books you're usin' to wrangle songs.
  • Folders is how many folders you made to organize your sets (or didn't, no judgment).
  • Keys is the number of key signatures lurkin' in your collection.
  • Sets is how many set lists you've built.
  • Topics is how many topics you're usin' to hunt down songs.

Songs

This section shows off the songs chillin' in your library, including:

  • Available shows how many songs are just sittin' there waitin' to be played from your All Songs collection. Tap it to see 'em.
  • Deleted shows how many songs you marked for the trash (but didn't actually delete yet, oops). Tap to view 'em & bring 'em back to life if you panic.
  • Loaned shows how many songs you gave away to your buddies. Tap to peek at what you're missin' & preview those tracks.

Video

This section dishes about your main screen & any extra screens you plugged in. It includes:

  • Main Screen reports the specs on your iOS device's display in whatever resolution it actually has & which way it's facin'. If there's a number in brackets after the resolution (like 768x1024 (2x)), that's the DPI showin' off—like a Retina-class iPad that's secretly way sharper than it looks.
  • External Screen tells you if you hooked up an outside monitor. Says "Not Connected" if you didn't (sad trombone), or the resolution if you actually did the thing.
  • Available Modes pops up when you got a secondary screen plugged in. Shows which resolutions that fancy external screen can flex. Tap to swap modes & pretend you're a real A/V technician.
