Fixin' the Oopsies

As you're gettin' started snappin' pages like a bleepin' paparazzi, there are a few controls lurkin' on the side or bottom of the screen you can fiddle with to make a scan that doesn't look like you took it in a dark basement.

Zap Mode

First up: should we blind your eyes with a flash when you're snappin'? The default is auto, which means our app is totes smarter than you & figures out if you need the light show. You can also tap it to force the flash on or off like the rebel you are.

Color Shenanigans

Okay, so you gotta pick a color mode before snappin' that scan. By default, we're gonna steal all the colors from your document in full technicolor. Here's what you're workin' with:

  • Color is a full color scan & is great if you love high-contrast text with all the rainbow vibes. Fair warnin': the colors might look kinda weird so the text doesn't look like garbage.
  • Grayscale is for docs that print in black but have like, shades & moods & stuff.
  • Black & White is for text-only documents & will make everything super contrasty & easier to turn into actual text files usin' optical character recognition (srsly, it's a thing).
  • Photo is for when you're snappin' actual photographs & you want colors that don't look totally busted. Fair heads up though: don't use this for text docs, y'all will regret it.

Shutter Vibes

Our scanner is basically a mind reader—it'll auto-snap a pic the second it spots a rectangle & thinks the scan's gonna be fire. But hey, if you're feelin' like you wanna take control, flip on Manual shutter mode & you can tap the button yourself like some kinda photography wizard.
