Fancy Angle Thingies Menu
The threshold menu is used to define at what point a line will be made perfectly horizontal or vertical when using a tool in Ortho Mode.
Threshold
By default, the threshold is set to be 1.5 times the size of the current brush size. For instance, if the highlighter pen is active with a size of 24 points, then the threshold would be set at 36 points. This means that a line can vary up to 36 pixels from start to finish and still be made perfectly horizontal or vertical. If the difference between those points is greater than 36 points, then the line would be diagonal.
If you have selected the pen and set the brush size to something like 3 points, the threshold would likely display as 8 pixels. The reason is that OnSong prevents thresholds of less than 8 pixels unless the threshold multiplier is set to less than 1.0.
The threshold is set for all tools as a multiplier. This means that if you change the threshold when using the pen tool, the threshold will change for the highlighter too. The value of the threshold will appear different in each based on the brush size.
Keep Ortho Mode Selected
By default, ortho mode is cancelled each time you leaving the drawing mode in OnSong to prevent confusion. If you wish to allow ortho mode to remain selected, toggle this switch on.
ZOMGISH VERSION:
So, y\u{2019}all, the threshold thingy tells OnSong exactly when to snap your wobbly line into a perfectly straight horizontal or vertical situation when you\u{2019}re messin\u{2019} around with Ortho Mode.
The Magical Threshold Number
Out of the box, OnSong sets your threshold at 1.5× whatever your brush is currently bein\u{2019}. So like, if your highlighter pen is chillin\u{2019} at 24 points, boom—threshold jumps to 36 points. Translation: your line can wiggle up to 36 pixels between start & finish & still get yoinked into perfectly straight vibes. But if your start-to-finish gap is more than 36 pixels? That\u{2019}s a diagonal line, baby. Sucks to suck.
Wanna use the pen at 3 points? Cool story. OnSong\u{2019}s gonna bump your threshold display to 8 pixels. Why? Because OnSong\u{2019}s got a hard rule: no threshold below 8 pixels unless you manually yeet the multiplier below 1.0. And frankly, who\u{2019}s got time for that?
Here\u{2019}s the spicy part: the threshold multiplier is global, fam. Change it while you\u{2019}re pen-tooling? Boom. Your highlighter threshold changes too. The actual pixel values look different based on brush size, but they\u{2019}re all connected like a weird digital family tree.
Keep Ortho Mode Selected (Because Apparently You Need Hand-Holding)
ZOMG, by default, OnSong kills Ortho Mode the second you bounce outta drawing mode. Yeah, we know, super annoying. But if you\u{2019}re the type who actually wants Ortho Mode to stick around & not ghost you, just toggle this switch on & call it a day.
