Chuck In Some Jams

ZOMG! Srsly, There's Like a Bazillion Ways to Cram Songs Into OnSong. Pick One, Bestie:

Throw It In

This section is basically your Create Your Own Adventure playbook—roll up sleeves & either craft songs from scratch inside OnSong, or yeet existing bangers into a book.

  • Conjure a Brand New Bop opens the Template Chooser so you can, like, pick a vibe to build on. If OnSong is feeling lazy & has zero templates? Cool, cool—it'll just crack open the Song Editor with a blank slate. Go ham writing your masterpiece, then smash that Done button to bless your library with your genius.
  • Songs That Already Exist (nobody sees this one) unlocks the "Plz Pick Songs" menu so you can cherry-pick tracks to dump into your chosen book. Spoiler: only shows up if you're nerdy enough to have a book selected.
  • Stuff from Other Apps spills the tea on the Add to OnSong extension—basically a party invite that lets you smuggle content from literally any app into OnSong.
  • Yoink It From the Internet fires up an in-app browser so you can raid your fave websites for content.
  • Snap Photos of Paper Like It's 1987 lets your device's camera work overtime scanning physical charts straight into the vault.

Where All the Files Live

This section shows you the storage party zones where you can dump files to import later.

  • Dropbox is that cloud thing everyone's obsessed with—perfect for when you wanna grab documents from your actual computer without touching it.
  • File Sharing lets you drag & drop files from your computer using a USB cable & either iTunes (Windows, lol) or Finder (macOS, cool points). Psych! File Sharing ghosts you on Mac. But hey, you can manually upload junk from Documents or Downloads using the + button at the bottom like a caveman.
  • Files imports files from iOS storage buddies—basically the Files app's cooler sibling.
  • Google Drive is that other cloud thing people won't shut up about—bonus: you can edit docs right there, wow.
  • OnSong® Drive is like your personal Dropbox but make it OnSong®. Transfer your own stuff or share it around using your OnSong® account.
  • Other is the "anything else" bucket—imports from mystery remote sources using WebDAV, FTP, or even Amazon S3 if you're feeling spicy.

Content Hookups We're Obsessed With

We buddy up with a bunch of content providers so you can lazy-load your stuff into OnSong. (Heads up: they want your money. Separate subscriptions & all that.)

  • Planning Center is church squad management central—organize your music team like you actually have your life together.
  • PraiseCharts unlocks access to the PraiseCharts goldmine: chord charts, sheet music, backing tracks, the whole shebang.
  • SongSelect is CCLI's gift to you—PDFs & text chord charts & lyrics galore.
  • WorshipPlanning.com takes the pain out of worship planning. Yank your events, songs & backing tracks straight into OnSong like magic.
  • WorshipReady.com hand-lovingly crafts worship chord charts in OnSong format. Pick a tier based on how many charts you need per month (aka: your budget).
  • LTC Asaph (you won't see this one) hooks up worship chord charts for folks who speak français.

Tweak Mode

Wanna reshuffle your import sources? Tap that Edit button in the top right corner & go wild.

Right-Click Jank (Context Menu)

Long-press (iOS/iPadOS) or right-click (macOS) on any import source & a sneaky menu pops up with bonus moves.

  • Nuke It yeets the import source off the list. Don't worry, you can add it back with the + button at the bottom right if you change your mind. (Only actual import sources vanish though—providers stay put, srsly.)
  • Rebrand It lets you rename an import source to literally anything your heart desires.
