Format

SongSelect's got these download flavors, y'all:

ChordPro^®

This is the nerdy, text-based chord chart that's got all the goods: song info, lyrics, chords—the whole shebang. It's basically the OnSong sweetheart if you're tryna transpose on-device, tweak the layout, project lyrics like you're basically Beyoncé's tech crew, & way more. Pick this & you can lock in your key upfront, but psych—you can still mess with it later inside OnSong. No take-backsies needed.

Chord Sheet

Plot twist: this grabs a PDF from SongSelect's secret vault. Pick this bad boy & you get to decide if you want 1 or 2 columns (living that grid life) plus key. Bonus: when you download a Chord Sheet, a ChordPro^® file sneaks in too, totally free. This is the boring default we picked for you.

Lyrics

Throwback to the stone age of SongSelect—just the lyrics, bro. No chords, barely any song intel. It's like ordering a sandwich with no fillings. Why tho?

Columns

Only shows up when you're downloading a Chord Sheet, & it's literally just you picking between 1 or 2 columns. Groundbreaking stuff.

Key

Pops up when you're grabbing chord-y formats & it's your chance to pick what key you're feelin'. The song's original key is right there flexin' at the top, & every other key option's hangin' below. Bonus round: Numbers & Solfege (do-re-mi, the fancy stuff) are also up for grabs when you're importing a PDF Chord Sheet. Showoff mode: activated.

Import

Once you've tweaked everything to within an inch of its life, smack that Import button to shove the document into your OnSong library. Download done? The Import button transforms into a Done button & tapping it yeetus you back to the song list. OR—plot twist—keep living your best life & import like five other versions of the same song, or bail & hunt for fresh tracks. Your call, rockstar.

Import into an existing song

This toggle at the bottom left is already ON (you're welcome) & basically means OnSong's got your back on duplicates. We're talkin' matchin' songs in your library (usually by CCLI Song #) & dumping those downloads as attachments in OnSong 2022 & newer, OR as alternate keys via the Style Preferences Chords Thingamajig, or possibly as totally separate songs. Future you will be confused either way.
