Tweak Dem Chords (Yeah, We Let U)

Oops, You Wanna Mess With Chords?

The chord variation editor is like... that one tool you'll use once & then forget exists. It's for makin' new chord flavors or fixin' the ones you totally botched. Buckle up, peeps—here's what you gotta fill in:

Chord Name

Type the chord's name on the first line. Yeah, this is how OnSong knows which chord you're actually tryna play. Duh. Required. (No pressure tho.)

Frets

Type the frets you're gonna smoosh your fingers into here. This one's also required & can be literally any of these:

  • x to, like, not play that string at all (we get it, you're selective)
  • 0 to play an open string (ez mode engaged)
  • 1-9 to play frets one through nine (baby steps)
  • A-Z to play frets ten through thirty-six (now we're gettin' fancy)

Pro tip that nobody asked for: If you throw a space between each number, you can go higher than fret nine. Srsly. Example: x 0 12 11 10 8 — boom, lookit you, feelin' like Hendrix.

Finger Positions

The last line is where you tell your fingers where to go. This is optional because OnSong will literally figure it out for you (you're welcome). Finger spots work like this:

  • - the string gets ditched (no fingers touchin' it)
  • 1 index finger (the bossy one)
  • 2 middle finger (the chill one)
  • 3 ring finger (the artistic one)
  • 4 pinky finger (the weakling)

Tap the Done button when you're done playin' around & wanna actually save this chord thingy.
