OnSong is like, totally obsessed with showin' off your iOS device's external video chops. You got three whole modes to pick from—live your best life, bestie. The external video settings screen is basically where we hid all the nerdy knobs & switches so you can customize your external video output 'til the cows come home.

Vanish the Icon When Nobody's Lookin'

The Menubar comes with the External Video Menu just chillin' there 24/7 by default. Flip this on if you only want the icon to show up & pretend to be useful when an actual external video device is plugged in. Shy much?

Lyriken-Projektion

Wanna project lyrics on a wall so everyone can sing along & pretend they know the words? Lyriken-Projektion lets you use chord charts to blast lyrics on a projector for your whole squad's sing-a-long fever dream.

Bühnenschirm

Bühnenschirm Mode is basically your phone's way of pretending to be fancy—it turns one or more HDTVs into virtual music stands so you can stop squinting at your tiny screen like a goblin. Tweak these settings to make the output less embarrassing.

Screen Mirroring

Turn this on & OnSong acts like every other app ever—it just mirrors your screen. Cool if you're makin' tutorial videos or trainin' people, but honestly we disabled it by default 'cause OnSong is all about dominating that external display like it owns the place.

On some iOS versions this'll make OnSong have a lil' breakdown & need a restart. You'll get asked to restart or bail out so the change actually sticks.

Screen Resolution

When you plug in a video device, OnSong nerds out & checks all the modes, then picks the highest resolution it can handle by default. But sometimes your video device lies. Like, a 1280x1024 monitor might brag it can do 1920x1080 but then just stretches & squashes everything like a sad pancake 'cause the aspect ratio's all wonky. If that's your jam, you can lock in a specific resolution manually. It might work, it might not. OnSong'll do its best guess.
