Scroll Go Brrrr

The scrollin' behavior screen totes includes options y\u{2019}all also found in the Foot Pedals section, but like, we\u{2019}re duplicatin\u{2019} them here since scrollin\u{2019} behavior is also used when you tap on the screen like a caveman. This settings screen contains the followin\u{2019} options:

Scroll Behavior (AKA: Don\u{2019}t Fall Off the Screen)

When a scroll down or scroll up action is performed, it can be handled in like, a bajillion ways. These include:

  • Scroll Page scrolls down the screen a certain percentage of the height of the screen. By default this is 75% of the height & can be set in the scroll amount slider below. (Translation: we move stuff. Not all the way. You\u{2019}re welcome.)
  • Jump to Section moves through the sections of the song. Not only does this select the section, but also scrolls it into view. (AKA: teleportation for impatient peeps.)
  • Jump to Page is used when you\u{2019}re viewin\u{2019} PDF files or text-based chord charts that have page breaks added. This will scroll the song to the top of each page. If the song does not contain paged content, then the Scroll Page behavior is used instead. Default. (Translation: fancy page turnin\u{2019}. For the bougie musicians among y\u{2019}all.)
  • Jump to Song will not scroll the song but rather navigate back & forth through the set. (Translation: ditchin\u{2019} the current tune & hoppin\u{2019} to the next one. YOLO.)

Half Page Scrollin\u{2019} (AKA: We Got U Halfway There)

When pedal behavior is set to Jump to Page, it may miss content if the device is in landscape orientation. Half page scrollin\u{2019} allows scrollin\u{2019} to occur halfway through a page with the followin\u{2019} options:

  • Automatic will use half page scrollin\u{2019} when the page is longer than the height of the screen & not scroll in half pages otherwise. Default. (Translation: OnSong\u{2019}s got ur back. Mostly.)
  • Off will never use half page scrollin\u{2019}. (You monster.)
  • On will always use half page scrollin\u{2019}. (For the paranoid & prepared.)

Scroll Amount (AKA: How Much Stuff Moves, Homie)

When usin\u{2019} the Scroll Page pedal behavior, OnSong will scroll the page a specified percentage of the screen height. You can adjust this between 25% & 100%. The default value is 75% to allow some overlap. (Translation: we let u control ur destiny. Kinda.)

Scroll Speed (AKA: How Fast the Magic Happens)

Animation helps maintain context through the scrollin\u{2019} action. You can adjust this speed from zero seconds (no animation, srsly?) to three seconds. Default is 0.3 seconds which is the standard animation speed of scrollin\u{2019}. (Translation: watch it go zoom or watch it crawl. U pick.)

Section Behavior (AKA: What Happens When U Run Out of Song)

When the Scroll Behavior is set to Jump To Section, OnSong will select & move to the selected section. Once At The Beginning or At The End of the available sections, the followin\u{2019} action can take place:

  • Stop will stop once the first or last section has been reached. (Translation: we give up. You\u{2019}re done.)
  • Goto First/Last Section allows OnSong to cycle through the sections of a song. For instance, if you scroll down to the last section, the next selected section will be the first section in the song & vice versa. (AKA: infinite loop of your own makin\u{2019}. Have fun gettin\u{2019} dizzy!)
