Lemme Outta Here with My Stuff
ZOMG okay so like, when y'all export songs & sets from OnSong, the app literally just makes up filenames for you. These whacky settings? They're how OnSong decides what to call your stuff. Riveting, amirite.
Filename Thingamajig
Okay so this field is where you get to feel like a power user & customize your filename using a bunch of nerdy variables. By default it's set to slap the sort prefix on there & then title separated by a dash. Because apparently that's genius. You can totally customize it with these bad boys:
- title is like... the song title. Shocking, we know.
- capo the capo you slapped on the song cuz you can't play it in the original key (no judgment).
- key the key the song is currently screamin' in—could be the original or transposed, who knows anymore.
- originalKey is what key the song was actually written in. You know, before you butchered it.
- transposedKey is the key you transposed it to cuz you're fancy like that.
- author is whoever wrote this bop.
- ccli will have the CCLI number if OnSong's feelin' generous & it's in there.
- composer is the actual musician who composed the work. Give 'em credit, y'all.
- copyright has all that legal scary stuff about who owns what.
- duration is how long the song is in seconds. Aka how long you gotta suffer through it.
- lyricist is the person who wrote the words. The poetry peep.
- number is whatever song number you assigned to it. Your call, boss.
- timeSignature is the time signature. Math rocks.
- tempo is the BPM. Fast? Slow? Confusing? All of the above.
- sort can be used to throw that sortable prefix on the filename cuz apparently OnSong thinks you need help gettin' organized.
Include Sortable Prefix
So when you export a whole set of songs, OnSong will add a sortable prefix to keep everything in order. It's just numbers padded with zeros so they don't look weird. But if you're only exporting a single song OR you turn this off, OnSong will be like "nope" & remove that sort variable from the front of your filename template.
