Juice Keepin'

Unlike other apps, OnSong will literally keep your device awake & starin' at the screen like you're on it 24/7. You can tweak these settings to make OnSong behave less like a power-hungry monster & actually save some battery juice.

Dimmin' That Screen

Screen brightness? ZOMG, it\'s like a tiny sun drinkin\' your battery for breakfast. Lower that brightness & you\'ll get way more playtime. If you\'re the type to crush a set & then disappear backstage for a smoke break, OnSong can auto-dim the screen so it stops bein\' such a power hog.

Dim Screen

Wanna turn on auto-dimming? Cool. Pick how long before the screen gets all dark & moody. Your options: Never (the default, obvi), or anywhere from 2 minutes to 3 hours. Pick your poison.

To Brightness

This is literally just the brightness percentage you want. So if you set up dimmin\' above, OnSong will turn the screen down to whatever number you throw in here. Science!

When Plugged In

By default, OnSong is like "Nah, you\'re chargin\', so I\'m stayin\' bright & bleepin\' hot." But you can flip this & make it dim even when you\'re plugged in like a responsible adult.

Sleep

OnSong is basically a caffeine addict, so it keeps your device wide awake as long as the app is open. Wanna change that? Here\'s where.

Sleep Screen

OnSong will stay awake forever & ever & keep your device from nappin\' until you literally turn it off or ditch the app. But you can change this to timeout between 2 minutes & 3 hours if you\'re not a monster. Default is Never.

Run in Background

When OnSong isn\'t front & center anymore, iOS will try to shut it down like it\'s yesterday\'s news. BUT—if OnSong is actually playin\' audio, it\'ll keep runnin\' in the background like a ninja. You can change this to:

• Always will keep the app alive & kickin\' in the background even when it\'s not playin\' audio. Totes useful if OnSong is controllin\' lights or sendin\' MIDI events like MIDI clock & you don\'t wanna be a buzzkill.
• Never will shut OnSong down the second it\'s not front & center. Bye, Felicia.
• When Playing Audio will let OnSong nap unless it\'s actively playin\' audio. This is the default & honestly the least terrible choice.
